5 Reasons why you should join the Click Travel Product Engineering team! - Click Travel

Are you an experienced engineer looking for your next opportunity? Or are you just starting out on the career ladder and wondering where to use your skills? We could have the perfect opportunity for you…

Click Travel is an award winning travel management company that’s been listed as a Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies To Work For, for the last six years in a row. We build our own booking platform that allows travellers to book, manage and control all of their business travel all in one place. So why should you consider working for Click Travel product engineering? Read on to find out!

1- Flexible working

At the very heart and soul of our workforce is our flexible working policy. Click doesn’t want it’s employees to stick to the 9-5 if that doesn’t suit them. Staff can choose their own working patterns to fit around their circumstances, including childcare commitments. We can also offer remote working for the vast majority of our roles, meaning that you can work for Click from anywhere within the UK!

2- Interesting tech, solving interesting problems

We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) and practice continuous delivery so we can quickly try out new ideas and iterate on existing product features. We love experimenting with new technology and tools – we’ve recently started working with Elm.
We’re building our platform as a microservice architecture exposing RESTful APIs to make it easier to extend and evolve. Some are built in Java, but lately we’ve been implementing serverless microservices built in Node.js on AWS Lambda.
We are well along the road to Continuous Delivery and infrastructure-as-code. We follow lean and agile principles to ensure a short feedback cycle, and we make sure we’re not too far removed from our internal and external customers.
The customers are at the heart of what we do, and you’ll be able to work autonomously to build a product that makes booking business travel a smooth experience.

3- Perks & Benefits

We offer a wide range of perks & benefits, which you can find out about here! They include free gym access, your birthday off (as well as the ability to purchase extra holiday), rail discounts, birthday lunches hosted by our senior leadership team, beers every friday and a free food fridge stocked with snacks you can help yourself to all week. We also offer plenty of career focussed benefits including mentoring, shadowing, regular internal promotion opportunities and external coaching.

4- Celebrate your success

In our Product Engineering team, we’ve built a blameless culture that fosters collaboration, learning and continuous feedback. We’re also big believers in celebrating your success! Every year we’ll invite you to our free summer and Christmas parties to bring all of our office staff and remote workers together to enjoy an event to remember. We also enjoy social events all throughout the year, with a dedicated social committee organising everything from mini golf trips to a pizza and prosecco in the office. Product Engineering also has an offsite event once a year to collaborate, share ideas and meet up face to face. We want you to feel valued and rewarded for all the work you do!

5- Wellbeing support always available

Looking after our staff’s wellbeing is more than just a tick box exercise for our team. Click offers access to 24/7 mental health support which includes Mental Health First Aiders and free counselling sessions. We also host wellbeing week every year with spa treatments, meditation and yoga, and we encourage all staff to never reply out of hours, to ensure everyone enjoys a healthy work life balance.
