Click Travel has successfully implemented an NDC based solution to British Airways’ content in their new business travel booking tool,Click Travel
Click Travel will receive British Airways and Iberia content using NDC based distribution, eliminating the proposed fee levied on bookings made via the GDS, which is due to come into effect on November 1st.
Simon McLean, Executive Chairman of Click Travel says, “We’re delighted to be the first TMC in the world to go live with British Airways NDC content, meaning our customers will not only get a much better user experience, but they’ll also avoid the £8 distribution charge which comes into effect on November 1st.”
He continued “We’ve been predicting a future based on direct connects for years, which is why we’ve invested so heavily in our direct connect aggregation technology to ensure it’s a breeze to plug in any number of airlines as they come on stream.”
www.clicktravel.com is a brand new version of Click’s award winning aggregation technology and enables users to search thousands of travel providers to find the best rates and widest choice. On the supplier side of the platform,Click Travelintroduces another revolution in the form of zero cost of distribution. The direct connect ability offered byClick Travelallows suppliers to bypass the increasingly restrictive distribution channels of the GDS and distribute their content to buyers directly, presenting themselves in a compelling way with rich content.
McLean noted “Travel suppliers now have the ability to connect to our platform directly, in return for which we are offering them zero cost of distribution – no commission, no booking fees, nothing.”
McLean continued “By providing us with programmable access to the business processes we need to dramatically improve the travel buyers’ experience and the efficiency of our platform, we can continually reduce the cost of distribution for travel suppliers – right the way down to zero.”
