Click Travel is to become the first TMC to offer the new urban hotel concept, hub by Premier Inn, direct to its customers, with the exclusive content available now and in the TMC’s new business travel platform, travel.cloud.
Working alongside the UK’s largest hotel brand Click have successfully implemented a direct connect solution to hub by Premier Inn content, meaning that the TMC are the first place outside of Premier Inn’s direct channels that business travellers will be able to book hub rooms.
David Cooney, Head of B2B Solutions at Premier Inn, comments, “Hub by Premier Inn is our exciting new hotel brand which will appeal to savvy travellers looking for great value and the latest technology from a hotel. We currently have four hotels in London and one in Edinburgh, and a further eleven in the pipeline. We are delighted to be distributing hub by Premier Inn via our preferred 3rd party solution, Direct Connect.”
Simon McLean, Executive Chairman of Click Travel says, “We’re delighted to be the first TMC to be able to offer Premier Inn’s hub hotels to our customers. This direct connect solution makes for a much better customer experience, as it gives customers access to greater variety, both in terms of price and style of accommodation.”
He continued “We’ve been predicting a future based on direct connect solutions for years, which is why we’ve invested so heavily in our direct connect aggregation technology to ensure it’s a breeze to plug in any number of suppliers as they come on stream.”
travel.cloud is a brand new version of Click’s award winning travel booking tool and enables users to search thousands of travel providers to find the best rates and widest choice. On the supplier side of the platform, travel.cloud benefits from another revolution in the form of zero cost of distribution. The direct connect ability offered by travel.cloud allows suppliers to bypass the increasingly restrictive distribution channels of the GDS and distribute their content to buyers directly, presenting themselves in a compelling way with rich content.
McLean noted “Travel suppliers now have the ability to connect to our platform directly, in return for which we are offering them zero cost of distribution – no commission, no booking fees, nothing.”
McLean continued “By providing us with programmable access to the business processes we need to dramatically improve the travel buyers’ experience and the efficiency of our platform, we can continually reduce the cost of distribution for travel suppliers – right the way down to zero.”
