Click Travel donates almost £50,000 to local and national charities - Click Travel

We’re proud to say that Click Travel has donated almost £50,000 to supporting mental health and homelessness charities chosen by our staff.

Half of the cash raised will help fund SIFA Fireside’s Allcock Street drop-in centre, which assists up to 160 homeless and vulnerably-housed adults a day.

SIFA Fireside Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships Manager, Melissa Roche, says: “It costs over £1 million to operate our services for a year – so this very generous contribution will have an enormous impact on the financial sustainability of the charity.

“Money like this helps us to fund roles such as tenancy support workers and mental health link workers as well as keeping our drop-in centre warm, our showers running, hot food available for our clients and so much more.”

Our team have been regularly volunteering at the drop-in centre, donating more than 120 hours of their time over the past year.

Roche adds: “Click Travel has been an incredible support to the charity. It is not simply a case of ticking a CSR box – the team have genuine passion for supporting their community.”

The other half of our donation will be used by the mental health charity Mind to work across England and Wales, helping anyone and everyone with a mental health problem.

Emma Ihsan, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind, says: “We are so grateful to the employees at Click Travel for choosing to donate this money to Mind. This money will fund essential services, including our Infoline which provides confidential information and advice and our campaigning work which helps to ensure a better deal for anyone and everyone with a mental health problem.”

Click Travel’s CEO, Jill Palmer, says: “It was important for us to donate to both local and national charities this year. As well as donating to SIFA Fireside, our team has been proud to give something back through volunteering. We were also pleased to make a donation to Mind, who do incredibly important work across England and Wales raising awareness and providing support for a range of mental health needs.”

Our social commitment policy defines that the business donates one percent of our profits, time and product to charities and not-for-profit organisations chosen by our employees. Previous recipients include Cancer Research UK, Midlands Air Ambulance and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, alongside a host of other charities.
