A rogue traveller is simply somebody who doesn’t follow an organisation’s defined travel structure and books their own travel regardlessly, thereby straying into an inadvertent unmanaged travel strategy.

This can cause headaches for travel managers since it creates leakage and conversely makes it difficult to analyse management information due to uncaptured data.

This behaviour allows travellers to book through preferred channels when a cheaper rate may have been available via a Travel Management Company.
