Budget hotels have, in the past, suffered from an image problem – particularly when it comes to business travel. They’re often seen as substandard accommodation that has little more going for it than the price of the room and the mere mention of their name can strike horror in the heart of a business traveller, meaning that they’re often skipped right over during the booking process.
However, those days are far behind us now. Budget hotels have undergone drastic makeovers in recent years and now offer facilities that seriously rival that of their competitors. The budget hotel sector is growing rapidly and about 50% of all hotel openings this year will be by budget hotel groups, meaning they’re no longer something to be sniffed at.
