A simple trick to start reducing the amount that your organisation is spending on hotels is to identify trends in the locations of the hotels that you book; for example, do you have to travel to Warrington every month to see a client? Do your return to the same areas for team away days regularly?
If so, contact hotels in that area and ask for competitive corporate rates in exchange for guaranteed stays – it’s a win for the hotel and it’s definite win for your hotel budget. Don’t forget to communicate any corporate rates throughout the business, and add a few lines to your travel policy if needed.
